STARNO.net spearheaded the visual development for a high-end pitch involving a massive digital aquarium. This ambitious concept utilizes a seamless array of ultra-high-resolution LED screens mounted edge-to-edge to create a fully immersive environment. The goal was to transform a physical architectural space into a breathtaking underwater odyssey where boundaries between reality and digital art disappear.
The technical pipeline for this 3D environment was highly specialized. The core architectural and underwater structures were meticulously crafted in 3D Studio Max by lead artist Daniel Bayona. His work established the complex lighting and scale required for such a large-scale display. Once the 3D foundations were laid, the STARNO team took over for the matte painting and final compositing phase in Photoshop.
Through advanced photo-manipulation, custom colorimetry, and digital painting, the team added layers of realism, organic particulate matter, and atmospheric depth. The result is a stunning 16K-ready environment that demonstrates the full potential of XR (Extended Reality) and large-scale digital scenography. While the final destination of this project remains confidential, the artistic and technical achievement stands as a testament to STARNO's capability in next-generation immersive media.
In the world of Location-Based Entertainment (LBE), the transition from traditional projection to Direct View LED technology represents a massive leap in brightness, contrast, and viewer engagement. This project was designed to push the limits of what a "digital window" can be. By simulating a hyper-realistic aquarium, the experience allows visitors to feel the weight of the water and the scale of the environment without the physical constraints of a real tank.
The artistic challenge was to maintain a perfect balance between technical accuracy (3D perspective) and cinematic beauty (Photoshop finishing). The 3D geometry ensures that the parallax remains consistent across multiple LED panels, while the 2D matte painting adds the "soul" of the image—capturing the way light filters through the surface (god rays) and how various sea life interacts with the environment.
This "Digital Aquarium" concept serves as a powerful prototype for luxury hotels, corporate lobbies, and flagship retail spaces looking to create an unforgettable visual landmark. It showcases how STARNO.net bridges the gap between traditional VFX matte painting and the future of immersive architectural media.
