CIVILIZATION: BEYOND EARTH – KEY ART

For the promotion of the globally acclaimed strategy franchise Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth, STARNO was commissioned to create a breathtaking aerial Matte Painting of a futuristic Paris, France. This key visual was designed to bridge the gap between Earth’s historical legacy and the sci-fi future presented in the game, where humanity prepares to leave its home planet following a global catastrophe known as "The Great Mistake."

The mandate required a delicate balance: preserving the iconic, recognizable skyline of the "City of Light"—including the Eiffel Tower and the Seine—while integrating advanced architectural elements and atmospheric lighting that suggest a highly evolved, high-tech society. STARNO utilized high-resolution digital photography combined with custom 3D modeling and painting to deliver a cinematic, high-fidelity environment.
